Intuit has just released Quicken 2007 for Mac OS X Lion. Image from Intuit website. Quicken was originally written for the Power PC Mac. The 2005, 2006, and 2007 version of Quicken for the PPC is not Lion-compatible. With the new version written specifically written for OS X Lion, people can now use Quicken on their Macs. You can go to Intuit’s download page to get Quicken for OS X Lion.
Intuit has now 'reengineered' Quicken Mac 2007 so that it can run on OS X Lion, and the new update, available as a digital download or on CD-ROM, can import and convert data from Quicken Mac 2005.
The download costs USD 14.99 for existing users of Quicken for Mac 2007. Intuit advises new Quicken customers to get Quicken Essentials for Mac, a stripped down version of Quicken for Mac written specifically for Intel-based Macs. To get Quicken Essentials, you can either download it either from Intuit’s page for Quicken Essentials for Mac.

Prior to the update, OS X Lion users who wanted an application for managing their personal finances had to look for alternatives, such as iBank, Money 4, and Intuit’s free online app. Read more about great third-party apps and plugins for the Mac:.
Where the Quicken file is stored depends on where you bought Quicken. That's why I didn't answer your question directly. When you click Show 'QuickenFile' in Finder from the File menu, a Finder window will open showing your Quicken file. You can click this icon at the top of the Finder window to see the path. Also, the path to the file is normally displayed at the bottom of the Finder window. In Quicken, if you Command-Click on the file name at the top of the Quicken main window, it will show you the path to the file.
As noted above, development on QM2007 has stopped and there will be no future development on that product. Quicken, Inc has committed to future development of only the QM2015.QM2016.QM2017. While QM2007 16.2.4 does run under Sierra, there is no guarantee that a change in macOS will not break it any day. If that happens, it is not likely that Quicken, Inc.
Will invest resources to fix it. The new Qmac was developed from the ground up to take advantage of and be compatible with current macOS technologies. There are advantages for some in the new program, and others find the missing features too much and stick with QM2007 for now. Personally, once I got over the learning curve, I find QM2017 to be preferable.
But it's a matter of which features you find important. In some cases, it's a matter of learning a new way to do some things. You may want to look at the last post in in which SU smayer97 summarizes some of the advantages and disadvantages of both programs.
That said, here is an extensive list of ideas on which you can vote to help influence the future development of QM to make it more like QM2007 as improvements continue. One thing that's often overlooked in QM2017 is the ability to print and export an account or group register. It's pretty powerful and makes up for some (but not all) of the report functionality missing in this version. For printing (and saving to PDF), see my last post. To export a register, first filter, search and arrange the register as above. Then click menu File Export Register Transactions to CSV File.
You can then open the CSV file in Numbers or Excel and format it much more completely. I know, this is not replacing the functionality in QM2007. Don't shoot the messenger. Just trying to help those who choose to use QM2017 and are looking for better reporting. Meanwhile, I highly recommend you to add your VOTES to related IDEAS found on the:.,. with the essential ones. Click on each underlined link, then follow the instructions to add your vote to more related ideas.
Your VOTES matter! For background, you may want to too. BTW, the columnar-type report is the basis for MANY other reports, as a little lower; only the selection and formatting criteria are different. While you are at it, I also highly recommend that you browse through the IDEAS section of this forum and VOTE for the request of each of the missing features to be added back into Quicken for Mac.to help direct the priorities of the developers. This will help make the transition easier for you when you are ready to upgrade by seeking to have the features you are used to in Quicken end up in the latest version. To do that click on this underlined link, following the instructions then VOTE to your heart's content.
Your VOTES matter! (If you find this reply helpful, please be sure to click 'Like', so others will know, thanks.).
